Horses grazing on pasture

Kids and Youth

Georgia offers many exciting opportunities for kids and youth who are interested in horses. From riding lessons and horse shows to camps, clinics, and youth organizations, there are many ways for young people to get involved in the equine industry.

Best of all, you don’t have to own a horse to participate—many programs allow kids to learn and gain experience with horses through lessons and hands-on activities. These opportunities help teach responsibility, horsemanship, and a lifelong love for horses while building confidence and valuable skills.

Georgia 4-H – Offers horse clubs, judging teams, educational contests, and the statewide horse program.

Georgia FFA Organization – Many Georgia FFA chapters include equine science, horse judging, and livestock/equine career development events.

Georgia High School Rodeo Association – Allows youth to compete in rodeo events while representing their state.
